Halifax/Bank of Scotland App

Until the latest update of the Halifax Bank of Scotland app it was very accessible. With the most recent update Voice Over can no longer see the keyboard at the log in screen on IOS9. So as you can't log in it is unusable. I have the previous version on my iPod which still works and the latest on my iPhone which doesn't. Amazing to think one minor update can render a vital and useful app for customers worthless. Very frustrating. I've down graded my review on the App Store accordingly so I hope big corporate banks read these things as there is no other way to feed back.

Hi,

It is a bit of an annoying work around, but if you activate the first text field, touch where the keyboard is, and it doesn't show up, you need to swipe to the left or right and then it will usually reveal it. Sometimes it has to come up row by row. For example, if I want an H, I may not be able to find it, but I may find something on the row above. Then if I Swipe to the right, then touch the Row below again it will be there. Luckily, you have to double tap characters for them to be input. I know it is annoying, but it will do for now. However, the one thing that you cannot access is Your list of pending transactions. Hopefully that will come. Hope this helps you.

Yes, that's the workaround I used until the most recent update a few days ago but I can't get it to work now. It still works on the earlier version , but not the new one. Are you sure you have the latest update? If you do I'll install it again and have another go, but I did try that workaround fairly persistently before I gave up and uninstalled it.
Thanks.

I have just checked in the App Store and the last update I have was 24 September. I have checked and there is definitely no update for me to download. There aren't two separate apps are there? I can't understand it.

I've just checked, and although I can access both my Halifax and Bank of Scotland accounts through the app the one I have is Bank of Scotland. I think it is the same app except branded differently. But crucially, the latest update for the one I have was 3rd December. So if you are using a Halifax app as I now suspect you may be, watch out for the next update.

Yes, I am using the Halifax app. Thank you for the warning. I will be vigilant. If you can access your Halifax account with the bank of Scotland app, maybe you will be able to access your bank of Scotland account with the Halifax app? Worth a try anyway. Good luck.

After leaving a poor review on the App Store a few days ago I was pleasantly surprised to find the app has just been updated to 9.2 specifically to fix the accessability bug. It is now usable and I have altered my review to reflect my approval. It's great to have mobile banking back and to see developers respond so quickly.
