Has anyone found an iOS music player that supports local libraries?

iOS and iPadOS

Hi, I have been looking for a music player which can support large music libraries stored on an iPhone or iPad’s local storage. Ideally it would be similar to Winamp that we knew and loved back in the olden days with keyboard shortcuts but anything that supports large local libraries would be a great start.

I have tried Winamp for iOS as well as VLC and Neutron but not had any luck so far.

Thanks for any help.

This is another app that fulfills your requirements.

I saw Levi Gobin’s recommendation first so tried that first and it seems to do exactly what I need. I have purchased the full version but I’ll try the other recommendations too as I had only tried inaccessible apps until now so to be spoiled for choice is a really nice development. Thanks everyone.

After these excellent suggestions, it does seem cherlish of me to point it out, but do remember that Apple's app, though increasingly a vehicle for Apple's services, can nonetheless still be used for playing a local library on-device. The difference to apps that provide UI for transferring files is of course that you have to use iTunes or Finder or the Apple Devices app to transfer your songs from your computer, they can't live on a network location and iTunes/Music has to track your files, which means that the metadata in the files have to agree with the folder structure if you want to see the tracks appear correctly. I choose to do this because I do value having everything organised under one roof, but just in case it isn't obvious, there's no actual requirement for your media files to be stored in a location managed by Apple Music; what's important is whether the library tracks those files or not and that the metadata is correct when the files are imported.

But yeah, these suggestions look great and if you're entirely happy managing things on-device or accessing direct via network then they look great. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
