Help! crazy sister making a mess of my friend's iPad

iOS and iPadOS

Okay, so my friend Anastasia has a crazy sister who had drank a bit too much. She decided it would be fun to switch Anastasia's iPad into arabic. I don't speak arabic or anything. Is there a way to put it right? Ana does not speak arabic and nor does her sister and this kind of messes up things. I at least think it is arabic. It sounds like that with VoiceOver.

possible fix

Hi Sabreena, it sounds like your friend might have to hook her IPad up to the computer and restore it using iTunes. When restoring the device, tell her to set it up as new and not from a backup. I'm saying this because I don't know if backups keep voiceover settings. Once her device has been restored, another thing she should do right away is set up a passcode and touch id, assuming her IPad has the home button. And one more thing she should do after setting up a passcode and touch id, never, ever, ever, give out that passcode to her sister, or set up her sister's fingerprint on the device! I know my family would never try to get in to my IPad or IPhone for that matter, but I have touch id and a passcode set up on both devices.

I will try to help her

Thank you. I will have to do it because Anastasia cannot do such things and I will tell her to set touch id or so this cannot happen again. I tried telling Siri to open language settings because Siri was still in english, but she wouldn't do that. I will have a nice talk with Ana's iPad. And then a less nice talk to her sister because she is giving me a headache. It would have been lots easier if the first thing Ana didn't do was to restart the iPad because that is how she solves most of the things. Otherwise we probably had been able to find the language settings.

Okaym, fixed Ana's iPad at last. I am yet to have a nasty conversation with Hazel when she wakes up from hangover. I have learned this. Always keep your iOs device safe. And Ana's computer is so incredibly slow wich is why it took this long. Wonder why she chose arabic. I know a couple of words but not sufficient to fix it but thanks for the tip about her computer and now it works. Thanks.

Siri language should be

Siri language should be independent from the system language. So tell siri to open language settings, the system language is the first option in the dialog.

o no!

O man! She probably thought this would be a fun prank to play in a bit of drunken misjudgment! I'm glad you got it fixed!

I'm the same way! I have passcode and touch Id. set up on my ipad. My mom's and my prints are in the system. I know my family would never try anything drunk or sober, but it's better to be safe! And someone did try and hack my Apple Id. a few months back. And it was a 2 3 hour ordeal to get it fixed. Since the hacker locked me and tech support out!
I wish you luck with the conversation with the psycho sister! lol Try to be nice because while you may have a monster of a headache, I think it's safe to say that she's going to have an even more monsterous headache! That 1,000 times worse than yours! lol
