how to keep deleted apps from showing up in app updates?

Hello,
I noticed ever since I installed iOS10 apps that I've already deleted from my phone are showing up in app updates whenever there's an update available. Is there a way to get rid of this? I usually update all but now I just have to update each app seperatly because of this.

When you're in the app store, go into the area that shows your purchases and hide the unwanted purchases. If you know that you won't ever want them again, I think that you can also delete them, but I'm not too sure about that aspect.
