By Ray Rucker, 12 October, 2018

iOS and iPadOS
Hello all, I am having trouble selecting videos and photos in iMovie with IOS to make movies. VO doesn't say whether the clip or photo is selected, and when I tap on the select button, it selects all photos or videos taken on that spacific day. Am I doing something wrong? I just want to be able to select spacific videos to make a movie. Please help?

Good morning. I find that it

Good morning. I find that it’s a bit easier to edit on my Mac nowadays, but on the occasions that I do make movies on my phone, here is what I tend to do as my particular workflow.
I start by making sure that I have a clip that shows up first in my camera roll. It doesn’t matter if I’m going to use it or not, but the reason that this is, is for a step that I take them later. In short, when you open a new project, you have to insert media into it or iMovie will not save it after you exit the application. It doesn’t matter if you have closed the project or not.
So essentially I use that first clip just to hold the project in place. I then open the Photos app or the Files app which is more likely what I tend to use, and then I use the share sheet to send videos into that project. Once you tap on iMovie in the share sheet, it will bring up a list of currently saved projects, so make sure you take note of which movie you were working on when importing videos. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any more questions you need to.
Edit, make sure your play head is at the end when importing files, or iMovie may drop the clip in anywhere in the timeline.

iMovie on the iPhone, voiceover tutorial

I recently started a series on YouTube about using iMovie on the iPhone using voiceover. Check it out here, like, comment, share, and subscribe for more. I'm trying to spread the word in case anyone is interested, but unless I'm a developer on this website, I cannot directly make a post about it.

The clips are actually selected

Even if VoiceOver does not say that the clips are selected, they actually are. It’s a little bit hard for me as well, but I manage. If you make a mistake, you can just start over. Also, if you want to select a complete day of clips, just use the select button. Another thing that you can try is adding all of the clips that you need to an album in your photos app, then going to iMovie and when you’re adding new clips, double tap the media back button. Then double tap albums, select the album that you wish to get your videos from, then just use the select button at the top.

YouTube link doesn’t work

I’m finding this thread on iMovie quite interesting, however thank you for uploading the YouTube link on here but whenever I open the link it says it doesn’t exist. There’s probably a way of making it public for people to view. Hope you can do that at some point. Cheers
