Rant incoming
As some people know, well, actually, let me rephrase that for you. Are you dictation literally every day. I use it to write things, make documents, send messages, etc. It’s just so easy.. As of late, patient has become an unusually more atrociously terrible then usually is which is pretty bad as it is now looks like it’s gotten even worse and I don’t know how we could get any worse, but I just got really worse, Somebody please tell me how many times I said was in that line. But overall even worse than it usually has, which is pretty bad and suffers. Dictation is pretty terrible, but it’s just so easy. I’ve been using it since a young age. I’ve used it since the beginning since I got my iPhone back around 2015 or something., Dictation is just good. Front screen, import, keyboard, Bluetooth keyboard, braille display. Yeah. Dictation is just more easier because all I need to do is do a magic tap when I’m done and then blame. I don’t need to do anything else
Braille screen, and all of those other things that you used to type, sure they do it, but no opinion they can never be dictation, but at this point, even android dictation is better.
What are your thoughts?
Right ended.

I don't have any problems with dictation.
It works perfectly for me. Speak clearly and slow down. I've noticed that people with heavy accents seem to have more problems.
iOS 16
In my personal experiences it has gotten worse since iOS 16. Siri has also gotten a lot worse as well. 🫤
I sometimes use dictation…
I sometimes use dictation when composing a quick text or email, but as it is not the most reliable typing method, I make sure to check the dictated text and make corrections as necessary before sending. If I must type a longer passage on my iPhone, more than one or two sentences, I'll typically use BSI.
Siri is dumber than my wall
At least it doesn’t make me want to bang my head on Siri three times per day.
Simple fix
A simple fix to dictation, if you are having problems is not to use it. Or ouble check what you've dictated always. Even if the text of the message is only 1 or 2 sentences. With any message whether text or email. I will either use BSI, a bluetooth keyboard, or a Braille display.
I use dictation but...
I check it and correct what I need to.
You're lucky this isn't audiogames.net, you'd probably be banned by now.
I know you won't listen to me, maybe you will when you're older, but you need to check your spelling and fix it to make your posts readable.
I'm thinking of emailing applevis.
I don't really want to do it as you're a teen but I think emailing them asking them what they think about giving you some kind of strike would help you out in the long run. We've tried and tried and tried to talk to you about checking your posts but you refuse to do so so if this doesn't improve I'll be emailing them.
I know you're going through hard times so I'm going to leave it for now but things need to improve on your end.
@Brad, go ahead
Hey Brad,
I'd go ahead and contact Applevis. No amount of waiting will help IMO. It will just stretch time for the individual thinking that not checking spelling is okay. Sometimes, tough love must be given regardless of circumstances.
Don’t read if you don’t like the writing
Just let people write however they want.
@Panais I can't do that.
Well ok, I can, but I can't just ignore dominics unwillingness to check his spelling. Why? Because if he gets a job one day, depending on what it is; they won't let him use dictation and then he'll be screwed.
Done.
Honestly I doubt anything will be done, but at least I did it.
He’s 12.
Yes it would be great if he checked his dictation or made the slightest effort to make it legible in any way but honestly, he’s 12 and from the sounds of things going through a lot. Let’s keep trying to encourage him to do things the right way instead of running to daddy. I’m sure all of us did annoying things when we were 12 but others smiled and took the high road knowing that they in turn were probably annoying at times when they were 12 and so on.
he's 12!
well damn! i thought he was 14/15.
I still think he should check his spelling but take back my email completely.
Never mind the age
Someone can have 1 million reasons to write like this, none of which is any of our business.
It becomes our business when we need to read it.
If you go on a sight for blind people then you're going to hopefully know that you need to write in a way that makes sense to a screen reader.
If you go on reddit and write u for you and 4 for for, not number four, and so on, that's ok, depending on the sub.
So what i'm saying is it's site dependent. If dominic has other issues then that's fine, although he should try his best to work with them, but as far as I know; he's just blind.
But you just said otherwise
Well ok, I can, but…
Your words not mine. they are written 6 comments up.
If you have a good reason for picking on people because of the way they write just say it. do not give me excuses like I need to read. if you need to read Brad, then I am sorry to say it but you are addicted to Dominic.
I was only trying to help.
I didn't know he was 12. I still think he should look over his writing but will leave it alone.
As for me saying I could ignore it, I could but chose not to.
iOS dictation may be…
iOS dictation may be terrible, that is why I dictate into ChatGPT.
Use the dictate button in the app, not the one that's on the bottom right of the keyboard, and most of the time what you dictate turns out pretty good.
I think it's because it has a larger language model, at least, that's what it told me when I asked it why ChatGPT's dictation appears to be better than Apple's.
For the record, I'm not dictating this.
Oh and I've seen a lot worse in some fanfiction stories.
