Hi,
Can anyone offer any help with the following problem I am experiencing on my iPhone 12 pro when creating folders.
When I combine two or more apps to make a new folder, if IOS designates it a folder name not contained elsewhere on the phone all is well.
However, if IOS decides that the apps should appear in a folder that has an existing folder name on the phone the fun starts.
So, for this example I created a folder to contain Gold Wave and Garage band. IOS designated the folder name to be music.
I then changed this name to Sound editors. Once I’d done this, the folder name that contained apps such as Music, Tidal, Spotify etc called music now showed the folder name sound editor.
So, I changed the folder name containing my music apps back to music and you guessed it, the folder containing garage band and Gold wave also became music.
This is not exclusive to music apps.
I created a folder to hold Chrome and Edge. IOS assigned it the name of Utilities the same one which holds apps such as calculator clock etc. I changed the folder name containing Chrome/edge to Browsers and low and behold, the folder containing the Apple apps previously called Utilities also changed its folder name to Browsers.
I have hard rebooted the phone, restored it from an iCloud backup with no joy.
So, before I go down the road of wiping the phone and re installing everything manually from scratch, I thought I’d just ask the group if anyone else had come across this issue and what steps did they do to resolve it.
Many thanks in advance for any help/advice received.
Yours
Graham
