Latest update for the Chase mobile app on December 7 2016!

iOS and iPadOS

I have iPhone 6 running iOS 10.2. I just recently updated my Chase mobile app to the latest version which was released on December 7, 2016. I'm using voice over and cannot access the text boxes to input my username and password's. When I double-click on them the keyboard does not appear to allow me to input this information. Is anybody else having this issue? I have contacted Chase accessibility to times to try to address this problem. I was told to install the app after deleting it and this should resolve the problem. I did this and it was on successful! But I was told to delete it and then remove it from the cloud. This did not resolve the problem either.

Suggestion

Hello,

I don’t use the app but I have a suggestion that I’ve used often.

Call tech support and let them know what you’ve done and it didn’t work. Then ask the support rep if they have an IOS device with the app installed. Most reps that support IOS devices will usually have them around so they can test. Ask them to launch the app then turn on VO using Siri. Tell them how to navigate, swipe left or right and double tap as needed.

In my previous encounters, the support rep I talk to get excited about learning something new and how a blind person uses an IOS device. And if it’s an accessability issue, they are more likely to escalate to someone that can do something about it.

HTH and good luck.

Thank you, great suggestions.

Thank you, great suggestions. I will try the one asking them to use their iPhone with me! I have done all of the other suggestions already but I appreciate the feedback and information! Definitely very useful!

It works just fine for me. I'd suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app, in case the update didn't apply correctly.

Thank you, I have uninstalled

The app has no issues on my iPad Mini 4, running iOS 10.2 and the latest version of the Chase app.

The user ID and password fields are not announced as text fields by VoiceOver, nor does VoiceOver indicate that either text field is editing, but the keyboard comes up as expected and works fine. I can also use a hardware keyboard to log in, without issues. I think the behavior changed slightly with the latest update, but not in any way which affects usability with VoiceOver.

If you are still having problems, you might try using an alternate method for entering your credentials, such as a hardware keyboard or Braille Screen Input. Also try changing between landscape and portrait orientations, in case that makes a difference.
