Hi all,

I am using Garage Band on an iPad, and for the most part it is very accessible, but I am having difficulty adding loops. I can browse loops, but I don't know how to add them to my tracks. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

What is a loop? Can you use your own or do you have to use the ones that come with gb? If you can make your own, how?

Loops are a bit of a recording played over and over, like in a drum track. My question is how to get a full song to play on one track while recording at the same time on another track. So I have a song I want to play as I talk over it, but the track/song cuts off after 8 measures and I am getting blank spots.

Any help would be appreciated!

So, I'm replying to an almost 4 month-old post but, hey I just joined. :-) Anyway, when you find the loop you want to insert in to your track, do a double-tab and hold for a few seconds. Now the loop is somewhere on your track. Take a finger and explore the right side of your device (more toward the bottom) to find your loop. Should hear something like "selected" such and such loop starting at bar 6. Double-tap and hold and drag your finger slowly to the left to move it to the bar you want the loop to start on. Now go back to the right side and find your loop again. It should still be selected. Swipe up once. You should hear the word loop. Now double-tap. Your loop should repeat for the duration of the song section. Hope this helps.
