Hi everyone,
I’m Alban, and I’m behind Lumyeye Pro, a voice-based assistant for blind and low vision users. I’d like to share some of its features and hear your feedback on accessibility.
Finding objects and understanding your surroundings
You can ask questions such as “Where are my keys?” or “Find my remote.” Using the camera, Lumyeye describes what it detects and provides spoken directions to help you locate the object.
On compatible iPhones, distance information and audio beeps provide additional guidance as you approach. The app also includes descriptions of obstacles and guidance intended to help you move around them. I’d especially welcome feedback on how clear and useful these spoken directions and audio cues are.
Assisted document scanning
Lumyeye can help you scan single-page or multipage documents, read them aloud, summarize them and answer follow-up questions. You can then save the scanned documents in your phone’s folders or share them by email or text message.
VoiceOver interaction
With VoiceOver enabled, double-tap the screen and speak your request. Answers are spoken aloud, and you can ask the app to speak faster or slower.
Lumyeye Pro requires iOS 17.6 or later and supports English, French, Spanish and Arabic. There are 40 free requests without a credit card, followed by optional paid subscriptions.
I’d appreciate honest feedback on object finding, obstacle descriptions, audio guidance and document scanning, as well as any difficulties with VoiceOver. Please include your iPhone model and iOS version when reporting an issue.

Thank you for your feedback.

This stuff already exists.
I don't want to come across as rude but sighted developers do this a lot, they don't research and then make something thinking they've made something ground breaking but there's already apps like Seeing AI and be my eyes and others, I'm sorry but I highly doubt anyone is going to pay after 45 tries.
Re: This stuff already exists.
I'm sorry I have to agree with Brad. Unless you do it revolutionary and add some unknown massive feature we don't know about why pay? What is the reason? Don't get me wrong I pay for apps all the time. But what sets you apart from the free apps? What advantage do I get using your app? If it keeps the information on device maybe. I would give you that. But at what cost? If you want a monthly fee that may or may not work. I know I'm watching the number of subscriptions I take on.
price not stated
You talk about suscriptions. They clearly aren't optional so what is the price?
Which phones are compatible with the additional audio cues?
You say that you’d have to have a compatible phone to get any additional audio cues other than voice cues but then you don’t say which ones they are. That would be helpful for somebody to know if you’re going to give us a try. And I’d have to agree with the previous commenters this already exist other apps.
