Multiple Alerts for Calendar Events

By Gaurav J, 8 August, 2015

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how i can setup Calendar on my iPhone to give me multiple alerts prior to an event.

For example if i have a meeting at 3pm, i would like calendar to send me an alert at 2pm, and then a second alert at 2:55pm.

Under the calendar settings, i can set a default alert for all my events which will alert me either 1 hour, 30 minutes or 5 minutes before an event, however it does not allow me to set multiple alerts.

In case this is not possible to achieve using the built in iOS features, does anybody with the Workflow app know if i can do this in WOrkflow?

Second alert in calendar

When you are editing the calendar event and set the first alert, you will be presented with the option to set a second alert. Just flick down past the first alert combo box and you should see the combo box for the second alert.

I can't remember if the second alert box only shows up after you set the first alert or not, so you may have to play with it.

Hope it Works

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap on Default Alert Times under the Calendars section.
Choose the default alert times you'd like. You can set different default alert times for birthdays, timed events, and all day events. Resource from: http://www.imore.com/how-edit-calendar-defaults-alerts-and-sync-settings-iphone-and-ipad

Hi,

Thanks for all the responses.

Yes i have already seen the Default Alerts under the Settings menu. This menu however only lets you set default alert. I was looking at a method to set 2 alerts for each type of event.

I have also seen that when creating an event in calendar, i can add multiple alerts. Again my problem with this is that i need to set the alerts manually. I was looking for a method that automatically sets two default alerts for each event i create.

Unfortunately it seems that in iOS we currently cannot set two default alert times for calendar events.

I also purchased the Workflow app and downloaded IFTTT as well, but could not set calendar alerts in either of these two apps.

Infuriating redo of iPhone

I recently traded up to the iPhone 7, but I'm having the exact same problem as Guarav. My old iPhone allows me to have multiple reminders for each event, but the new one defaults to just one reminder. It's super annoying and makes me want to go with a different phone next time.
Anyone figure this out yet?

Is there an app for this?

I want to do the same as Gaurav: have it default to two alert times. It looks like "Time to Leave" can give a second alert if you set a location, but many of my meetings are virtual. Does any app allow this default multiple alerts for events you schedule with Siri?
