New Audio Only Social Media App

By Harry, 19 May, 2020

Hey everyone!

Connor and I were having a chat about the potential of an audio only social media app today, think of it like twitter but with voice messages rather than text. Does this sound appealing, and if so, what sort of features would you like to see?

I hope everyone is staying safe!

this scemes to me like a very good app. I would like to have voice replies added. for example, whenever you receive a reply, a notification comes in, and you double tap on the notification, it will automatically play the voice reply.

audio?

Use some of the features from twitter. follow someone, reply, like, retweet or reaudio. Check vorail to see what you like and what you do not like from it. You could call it auditweet.

Great idea!

I would love to use that app and it would be a great idea really!

I don't really see the point.

Hi.

I don't really see the point in yet another audio app. We had Voreil that basically is dead now, Zello which also noone uses these days, although the way the app works is different and I could possibly list a bunch of other apps like this.

The problem I see that this is another blindy nitch product which will eventually fizzle out and noone cares about it in the future. Instead of again creating another network that is mostly interesting for blind people, we should focus on getting out there and actually use existing networks where sighted people roam. Yes i know, many blindys are afraight of the big big world out of their filter bubble and hate sighted people with a passion, but is it really useful to keep yourself secluded in that small bubble of yours?

Greetings Moritz.

The idea here is not to make a blind only platform, but make an appealing product that's inherently accessible. Much like how our goal with audio games is to provide a fresh experience that is also accessible. This platform would be to offer an interesting and creative alternative and puts everyone on an equal playing field.

tdabel and apps like zoom meeting as well as zello walkytalky offer both the ability to contact one on one, private groups and public chats. This would make private audio chats and general chats possible. Having both would make it desirable for business/clubs as well as personal use.

Zello

I tried to sign up for an account with Zello, and I never got a response indicating that either my account was created, or that the username I had chosen already existed. When I tried to log in, it said my credentials were not correct.
