Hi, I'm using an iPhone 10 with the latest iOS 11.2.1 and have a very annoying intermittent issue where notifications will repeat over and over again even when I press the side lock button on the phone. I called Apple support about this and they hhad me turn off notifications for news and then try turning notifications back on but this did not help. I have this issue with notifications from several apps including text messages. another strange thing is that now this seems to also happen on my iPad mini 4th generation. I thought it might have something to do with the iPhone 10 camera but am at a loss as to how to fix this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have had this problem for quite some time
On a variety of devices and through at least a couple of versions of ios. I have repeat set to once in settings/notifications/messages but it makes no difference. Yesterday my iphone 5 was still repeatedly announcing the text my daughter had sent telling me she was on her way to pick me up 24 minutes later and after we had already arrived at her house. There was voiceover announcing the text every few minutes from my bag laying on her table. It was even carefully keeping track of how many minutes had passed since the text was sent. I finally just turned off voiceover. This kind of thing happens so often and I have tried over the years to fix it but I've given up.
try this
I personally haven't run into this problem, but try clearing the notification once you get it. If that doesn't work, try restoring your phone. That, or just unlocking your phone could work as well.
