phone app super slow during phone calls-keypad almost unusable.

Hi, I have an iPhone xs. When I'm on phone calls and need to access the keypad or another feature like mute or speaker, the app runs incredibly slowly. For example, I had to dial into a conference call recently that asked you to enter in a pin to join. I had a really hard time entering in the pin on the phone keypad in a short enough time that it didn't time out. Any ideas how to get around this? Thanks.

Keypad very sluggish in Phone app

Yes, I just noticed this today when I had to enter an extension after dialing a phone number. VoiceOver was very sluggish to respond and it made it very difficult to enter the extension within the alotted time.

I am using a brand new iPhone XR which is otherwise very responsive with VoiceOver.

Has anyone reported this to Apple?

This has been going on a while, I'm not sure but my current device, an XR is not doing this. I'm not sure what affects it, possibly reduce motion? Hard enough to pin down that I can't isolate the reason why.

Miraculously fixed

So, I just turned my phone off and on again in the very unlikely chance that it would help, and it did. I can now actually use the keypad during a call. Perhaps try this as well.

When you say that you just turned the phone on and off to fix this problem do you mean that you rebooted the phone or just hit the power button to turn it off? Also, which phone do you have?

I have an iPhone XR and have turned it on/off several times by just hitting the power button, but that did not seem to resolve the problem for me. VoiceOver is still very sluggish when using the key pad after a phone call is connected. Perhaps I'll t try a reboot (but I don't have any calls to make just now!).

I just shut it off and turned it back on. I didn't reset it. I have no idea how this worked. I have an iPhone xs.
