Phone Settings Question: TTY: What's it for?

Hey all, I was brouzing through my phone's settings and saw something in the phone section called 'TTY'. What is this for and what does it change with how the phone works, if anything? Thanks, Joseph

TTY or teletype helps def or hard of hearing people type and read text.
