Proper VoiceOver voice of Alex not responding?

Hello,
I now have my iPhone 11, and it's currently updated to iOS 17.3. However, Samantha is the active voice although Alex is selected. Why is this, and how can I get Alex back? I can play the sampler for his voice, but I cannot activate/turning off and on VoiceOver won't work. Do I have to turn the phone off and on again? I have my Emergency SOS set to five of the side button presses--as it should be. however, which volume button should I press to power down my phone/will VoiceOver detect that and say "Power off?" I need to know that it will immediately and the emergency SOS--which was set to press and hold both the side and a volume button before release-- will not appear.

You should still be able to reboot the iPhone 11 by doing the following:

1. Press and release Volume Up.
2. Press and release Volume Down.
3. Press and hold the Side Button for about a 10 count, then release.
4. Wait for your phone to reboot to the Lock Screen.

Alternatively, you can go to Settings > General > Shutdown, to power down your iPhone without touching any buttons.

Regarding Alex. I am under the impression that Apple is trying to phase out that particular voice. A few people, myself included, have been having issues with Alex since iOS 17 released.

If you asked for the "premium" voice, you might have to wait awhile for the voice to download, no time known as to when it will finish. Also, I'd put it on the charger as depending on how much battery you have, it will probably like that maybe making the voice download faster. :) Good luck.
