Question about a second or so of silence when a message alert tone plays

Hello all
Many times, when a ring tone or message alert tone is playing, there appears to be a second or so silence before the tone continue to play. I loaded a couple of tones on my iPhone 5C running IOS 9.3.1 using iRinger and the latest version of iTunes. Does anyone have the same experience?
