question about using third-party apps to get ringtones

I listened to the podcast about sharing files between an app, which is ringtone++, and your computer. While I understand this, and know how to do it, I have one question. Are the tones that you share between the app and your pc free of malware and viruses?

Hello. Apple does have a line of checks before an app arrives to the app store, but the content (e.g ringtones), what are controlled by the developer or service provider of the app may change, thus, it can be tecnically possible to have malvare transferred through these apps. Personally, I have never heard of a malware or virus for iOs, but it can be possible to transfer a pc virus through the file sharing. However, I hardly doubt it, but if you ask if it is possible, then, well, everything is possible;) I hope I could help.

If you are not careful maybe but not very likely. I am not going to say it isn't possible to get one but maybe.
