Replacement for Star Wars Lightsaber duel?

By Blindcat, 15 May, 2013

Apparently this app is no longer available. Too bad since I was hoping I could play Lightsaber battles with my nephew using it. There are a ton of Lightsaber and laser sword apps in the app store, but I would like to ask if anyone has specific experience with any of them. Most are free and thus not much of a risk, but some are not and I don't want to waste money on them if they aren't accessible. Any reviews or info on which apps to avoid would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Great Lightsaber

Hi, There is a free app called Great Lightsaber by Byte Flux. It's totally accessible. There are several different choices of colors and hilts, and you can get more via an in-app purchase which also gives you force lightning, which is pretty cool. You can duel other users of this app via bluetooth, though I haven't tested this yet so can't say how it works. I'd certainly recommend you give it a try; I know I love it. :)

Thanks. I'll try that one

Thanks. I'll try that one out. The bluetooth feature sounds like something I would like to try out with my nephew who is six. Thanks, Chris

There is a samurai sword fight game called I samurai by toy kite software. There is both a free and a paid version. Its not light sabers but it's a blast. It even has a single player mode where you can battle four opponents. Great game.

Thanks. I'll have to give

Thanks. I'll have to give that one a try. Way back I used to participate in the combat side of the S.C.A. and a couple of other midieval and fantasy live action reenactment groups. So, I really go for the swordfighting type of games. We need more such games in an accessible format. Thanks, Chris
