Hi all, I have just baught a new iPhone 14. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to turn voiceover on when the phone is first turned on so that I can complete the setup process? Thanks
Once the phone is powered on, triple click the side button, the one on the opposite side of the phone from the volume buttons. Pressing that 3 times should enable Voiceover.
To my knowledge, Siri is not available to take commands in the iOS Setup Assistant. Therefore, assuming my understanding is correct, the only way to turn VoiceOver on without vision is to press the Side button three times quickly. Once the setup process is complete, however, you should then be able to ask Siri to turn on VoiceOver, as well as other settings.
Strange, when I get a new iPhone Siri is able to turn ivoiceover on. I just press button and say turn voiceover on. It does it. Did it with my 12 pro several years ago and in Nov of last year it did so with my 13 pro.
Anytime I've gotten a new iPhone, Siri hasn't been available during the initial setup. Siri needs some kind of Internet... whether it's Cell data or Wifi. When an iPhone is turned on for the very first time, it's not yet connected to Wifi or a Cell network. That's always been my understanding as to why it doesn't work initially.
I think the reason why holga says that he can use Siri when setting up the phone, maybe he means a different set up.
But no, when you buy it from an Apple Store or any other store or a place like Facebook marketplace, it has been a erased most likely, so you won’t be able to use Siri
To turn on VoiceOver on the iPhone 14 triple click the side button, this will turn on VoiceOver
