Siri randomly stops working

By Misty Dawn, 21 February, 2023

iOS and iPadOS

Ever since the last iOS update, Siri randomly stops working. When I press and hold the Home button, there is no sound indicating that she’s activated and she won’t respond to my commands. I have some functional vision, so it looks like the little round icon thing appears, but there is no visual indication either that any sound is being processed.

Anyone else having this issue and is there a workaround?

Multiple issues with Siri

By Dizno

Ever since the update to iOS 16 I have noticed many problems with Siri and with dictation using Siri.
First thing is the tone has changed, and Siri loads very slowly very slow to respond next when dictating a text message with Siri I often have to tell it to cancel and open up the message app and then dictate directly through the keyboard because Siri messes things up so badly that it makes me very unhappy.
They really need to get on board with Siri and voiceover because, I’m getting to the point where I don’t want to use it anymore

I am having all of the problems mentioned above, and I don't know any way to work around them. This is crazy. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. Then again, maybe they talked until they couldn't be bothered anymore because they realize that it's an uphill battle with no resolution, one way or the other.

I'm not having problems

Don't know if it matters, but I'm using an iPhone 10S. No problems, except the occasional comedy of misinterpretation dictation, like me saying group and SIRI writing grope. Or, the occasional dead spot in cell coverage. SIRI doesn't like dead spots very much.
