Hi. Since updating to iOS18.1 about a week ago i've been noticing some very strange goings-on while moving apps into folders that were never evident previously.
On two recent occasions when i've focused on a folder and double-tapped to add the app to the folder, for some reason it's being placed immediately to the right of the folder rather than in it, which is what used to happen with no problems.
I initially wondered whether one of the folders was perhaps full (i don't know whether there's a limit on how many apps a folder on iOS can hold), but then i had a go moving an app into a folder containing only one or two others and the same thing was happening - the app was being placed immediately right of said folder.
Has anyone else noticed anything like this, or am i perhaps unaware of a new way of organising apps these days? Thanks in advance.

bug
This comes up sometimes. Seen it in previous iOS and apple fixes it. Hope in iOS 18.2 will be fix if is a bug. Will not hold my breath for it.
Just been told of a work-around
Yes i agree. However within the last couple of minutes i've been told of a work-around which i have tested. Once everything is in the drag session, focus on where it is to be moved to and double-tap the folder while in edit mode, and so dropping with the folder open. Might help those of us with no sight while we wait who knows how long for Apple to put it right.
What I've observed...
If you just focus on folder without opening it, and, with roter, arrive at drop app inside folder option, then, wait for VO to announce, "Drop Ready", then double-tap, it works.
At least that's how it is on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.
dropping apps in a folder
It's a bug. Hopefully they'll have it fixed in the next upgrade.
I've written to the accessibility team about this.
They let me know they're aware of the bug and are working on it.
