I see that Google is now selling a Chromecast Audio device that can be used to cast audio from your device directly to an audio system that uses 3 mm audio jacks such as a home stereo.
I'm just wondering how easy it is to cast audio from apps on an iPhone and what is involved. I use my iPhone a lot with AirPlay to devices which support AirPlay, but I don't know of any AirPlay devices at $35 that will connect directly to my stereo. so the Chromcast Audio is of interest.
Thanks for any advice or experiences casting with an iOS device to the Chromcast Audio.

Chromecast audio.
The most important thing you need to know is that there is most likely no native support for the Chromecast devices in either iTunes or IOS. This means the apps you use with it need to have support built in.
I use Downcast for my podcasts and it mostly works well except for the fact that it appears that podcasts can't be played at a faster speed. I haven't gotten around to finding a music app yet.
Also, TuneIn Radio works with the Chromecast but it seems to be kind of clunky.
Chromecast capabilities on iPhone
How about Pandora? will that work with Chromecast audio on the iPhone with VoiceOver easily?
One more question, can you play music that resides on your iOS device or PC this way?
Thanks.
