using "news" in ios 10,3,2

hi all,when i read₦ews articles, in the native ios news app rather than using alternative new sources being as they are all collated in one pllace, why does vo keep jumping as i read articles? so can be reading an article and vo just suddenly jumps and says a button, or something else on-screen. i am irritated via this since sighted people, would surely not see this jumping behaviour. i have not tried this on my ipad mini 4 yet, but will the content i selected in news for the iphone still be relevant on the ipad; would my news preferences have been saved in the cloud? lastly, can i resubmit the content i am interested in? on the ipad mini 4 if it does not jump when reading is it because i am using an iphone 5 running ios 10,3,2?

I used to experience this problem when the News app first came out and in early versions of iOS 10. I would be reading an article and suddently it seemed like the app would refresh and interrupt speech.

This problem seems to be resolved in the latest versions of iOS 10. I haven't experienced this in some time.

The only problem I have now with the News app (which several people continue to report) is that VoiceOver still announces articles that have been "read" as "unread" until I kill the app and restart it.

It is a pain when you read many news article as I do and have voiceover saying unread. Maybe apple will take the time to fix this in iOS 11. Do not have issues with voiceover jumping.

I experienced the same problem as well with VO. It tells me that an article is unread even though I know I have read it. It's really annoying when that happens! The reason why you might be experiencing the jumping is because you have an iPhone 5 r it might work on later iPhones, for example the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7. I know that when I had my iPhone 6, and installed the first Version of iOS 10, it was very slow, and I could hardly do anything with it. I hope this helps. Lauren x

I am using an iphone 7 with the latest IOS. I’ve noticed this behavior if the internet connection is poor or slow. The article will load but not completely. So VO will read then when the article loads some more, VO jumps to a different section of the article. I would have to either start over or swipe left or right until I find the place I was at.

It does not happen often but it does happen if the connection is poor or slow.

ith Peter. I am a news junkie and as such I read many news articles. I relied on vo. to help me tell which ones I've read and not read. I also agree that Apple really needs to take time to fix this issue in ios. 11, before they do ANY MORE changes to the app! It is becoming a rather serious annoying pain in the... well you know.
