VoiceOver doesn’t announce keyboard language change on external keyboard

Hi everyone,
I’m a new iPad user with an external keyboard. My iPad is running iPadOS 26.1, and I’ve noticed that VoiceOver doesn’t announce when the input language changes while typing in any text editor or app.
For example, when I switch between English and German on the hardware keyboard, there’s no spoken feedback from VoiceOver indicating which language is active.
Is there any way to make VoiceOver announce the current keyboard language when switching? Or is this a known issue?
