macOS and Mac Apps

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has discovered how to sink ringtones to the phone with the new Mac OS? I've bin looking in my apps and I don't see anything since iTunes is gone. I also plugged in my phone to the Mac and nothing came up. Which brings me to the next question of, how do we backup our phones to the computer?

Hi there,

I am surprised no one has responded to this yet..
It took some exploring as I had to learn how to do this to update my iPhone to iOS 13 as I was not able to do it over the air at the time.

Steps to Sync/Backup iPhone in Catalina:
1) Plug in iPhone to your Mac.
2) Navigate to your Desktop (VO+Shift+'D')
3) Open a new finder window (Command+'N')
4) Navigate to your SideBar, as you will likely be in 'Recents'. You want to navigate to 'Locations'.
5) Arrow down to your iPhone, then VO navigate to the 'Scroll Area' which will have everything iTunes used to have, such as 'Eject iPhone', Summary, Check for Updates, Sync, Backup, etc, etc.
6) Enjoy and pass on the knowledge!

Or use iMazing to actually do the work for you. I used it to transfer ringtones from my phone to computer and new ones to my phone. I hate the side bar method and hope to never use it.

I'm not a big fan of the sidebar method. I mean, where as before you could just open itunes and hit sink or whatever, now that takes a couple more steps. I was trying to search for a shorter way to do it without any third party apps/ sidebar, but haven't found any solution yet

I'm glad iTunes is gone Personally, I'm glad iTunes is gone. No big deal really.

This is why I don't use the stupid side bar method, it just does not work. The scroll area is there but you kind of can't do anything with it. Imazing rocks.

How does Imazing work? Is their a way to import already made ringtones to it?

I am kind of sorry that people are having troubles with this. Only kind of though….
Follow the steps in my first post above, to "navigate to sidebar", just stop interacting with whatever directory your end, VO left arrow twice to the sidebar, interact with it, VO down arrow down to your iPhone, Done.

I refuse to believe that this process is that difficult for you all, so I am guessing you all would just rather use third-party software anyways, not because of difficulty, but because you want free stuff. If that is the case, then more power to you I guess…

Yep. Go to the ringtones section nce the device is expanded, then click import to device. Chose the ringtones, and watch them copy over. You can also import OPAs you have, or install updates via the app as well.

Actually imazing is worth the $49. I could not no matter how hard I tried to do this in the beta get this to work, yet iMazing was flawless, and during the beta of 10.15 too.

I actually don't see a ringtones section. I see, a tab for more, and in this tab i see info.
