Hello, I'm looking for an app or software which allows me to share file from my macbook to android smartphone without the need of a usb cable. Please suggest me some secure, reliable, and options to do the work done.
What about dropbox? Do not know how much it is now, I have free version, got it when it was free. Also one dry, if you have MSWord. I put whatever on my PC windows dropbox on it and it shows up on my iPad 9, and iPhone 16 pro max.
The first is sort of a web app. You can use it by opening pairdrop.net on both devices. It is serverless, open-source and safe. No registration, no cloud storage, no censorship or other limitations. It just negotiates the transfer between the two devices on the same network using webrtc protocol , or even between devices on different networks with some setup. It is very easy to use. The web app generates quite funny names for the devices in order to make them discoverable on the same network by default. You just need to click the name of the recipient device in the browser of the sending device, browse for and select the file to send, and then finally just confirm the transfer on the recipient by pressing "save" in the browser there. The process is extremely accessible. The transferred file is put in the downloads location of the recipient device and you can find it there afterwards. That's all. This is my go-to way of transferring any kind of file between my PC and iPhone, but I know from others that this works with any device that has a decent browser, including even the Blindshell classic 2!
The other is Landrop (website landrop.app). This is a regular app that runs on pretty much anything, and is available in appstore and Playstore. Earlier versions used to be open-source, now it is not, but still free. I haven't tried it myself, but should be rather accesssible, as the open-source version had some popularity among vi folks. It is also serverless, and works between devices on the same Lan.

Forgot to mention. There is an app for dropbox beside the webpage. I use the app on my desktop
