Big sur and recovery mode problem

Hi all,

If I start the disk utility program when in recovery mode I lose speech. However, if I quit the program voiceover is working again. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Many thanks

I have the same issue. I need to wipe my harddrive and did get it done with sighted assistance only.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

`I am working with imac PRO 2017. I have updated Macos big sur, problem in recovery mode, I can not select a language, voiceover does not speak, I can not work with Disk utility.
I can not manage my disks to erase.
The problem is very serious. We need to let Apple know, otherwise we will not be able to do a clean installation on our computer, we will not be able to manage our disks.

Has this been reported to apple accessibility?
I'm probably not going to update until this is fixed - being unable to roll back the update through recovery by myself would really suck.
