A Few Questions About The Mac

macOS and Mac Apps

Hi. Using a Macbook with OS10 El Capitan. Is therre a way to stop Voiceover anouncing "Blank Line" on Pages documents? In WINDOWS, I am able to have this silenced, making the reading experience better, when moving from line to line. Also, can anyone recommend good music production software for the Mac, which is Voiceover friendly? I would be looking to record multi tracks of guitar, keyboard, vocals etc, then mix these into a stereo track, which can be burnt to CD etc. If such an app exists, what is it called and what cost might be involved? Many thanks in advance for your answers on these questions.

Further Questions

Further to my original questions, is there a way to assign different voices to document elements, such as Headings, Quotations, Bold Text etc, as is possible with WINDOWS screen readers like JAWS? I have also been looking to set up Hand Off, on my Mac, so that I can use Pages, on my IPhone and Mac together, in order to cmpose documents. I read somewhere that a Hand Off option may not appear, if the hardware is not new enough. I have a MacBook 2009 laptop, running OS 10 El Capitan. Has anyone any experience, around how I can get Hand Off set up, in this case? I have no issue setting up Hand Off, on my IPhone 6S+.

Hi. I don't think it's possible for the elements to have different voices, or stop saying blank. The hand off will not work, because you have the old school Mac. I don't think it will go above el capitan. Sorry I don't have better answers. Oh, wait, try Grage band, that's the only other answer I have.

Recording software

Garage band is free. It is mostly accessible, I understand. Logic pro 10 is not free, and it is a high and program. It is much like a semi tractor-trailer filled to the top with boxes of decks of cards, and each card is a feature truth or ability that the program house. It is way beyond the average amateur‘s Level, but if you want to do professional recording, it is great. It has a steep learning curve, but if you learn garage band first, it is much easier because logic pro is simply the professional version of garage band.

Hello,

It is not possible to assign different voices to elements or text attributes. If this is something you really want, send it to Apple's accessibility email address which is accessibility@apple.com
Your mac doesn't support handoff or the newer version of AirDrop that allows you to share content with iOS devices. You will need a 2012 or newer model for the official support. If your computer is an early or mid 2009 MacBook, you're stuck on El Capitan. You will need a newer computer if you want newer versions of macOS.
