Hi there. As the subject line shows, i'm simplu wondering how i go about formatting an SD card using a Mac book air running the latest version of Mac OS please? I've never carried out this procedure before now? I assume, as with windows, this is possible? I'd really appreciate either some instruction how to do this, or alternatively if anyone could direct me to any already existing written or audio demos i can follow. Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi, It's a pretty painless…
Hi,
It's a pretty painless experience.
1. plug in your SD card using an adaptor or hub. It should appear in your finder in route. command shift C will open this for you.
2. Command shift U to get to utilities.
3. Press D and then down to get to Disc Utility application, and hit command down arrow to open.
4. In disk utility you'll land on a list of volumes, which is default. You need to change this to 'Show all devices.
5. Get into your toolbar by doing VO left, then VO shift down to get into the toolbar and then move through until you get to 'view, menu button'. VO space on this and select, 'show all devices'.
6. Sorry, we are nearly there... VO shift up arrow to get out of this, VO right to get back onto the list of devices. Now go down until you select the SD card. Avoid anything with apple or Mac in the title, you don't want to be formatting those! You can check it by VO righting until you can hear the disk size which should be the same as your SD.
7. Now, tab across until you hear 'erase'. VO space on this , now you can name your drive, set the format, IE fat, journaled etc, and then you hit erase.
That should do it. Now, when you check back in finder in route, your freshly formatted SD card should be there waiting for you.
Hope this helps. sounds more complicated than it really is. Not knowing how familiar with Mac, I was over verbose.
Thank you
Thanks very much Oliver. All done, and I'll be keeping hold of your instructions until I get the hang. never be worried, when you see my name, about providing instructions in as much detail as you did. Although I've been a Mac user about a year now I've still a lot to learn. Thank you so much.
