macOS and Mac Apps

Hi everybody.

So I'm trying to use OpenMTP.

https://openmtp.ganeshrvel.com/

I hooked the new NLS player up, and it does indeed see files on the device. I just can't figure out how to get it to do anything, like enter directories, view files, or what have you. I just have a list of files on the device and a list of files in my home dir on the Mac.

Has anybody successfully used the app? If so, any tips?

I'm not really replying to your questions since I have absolutely zero experience with Android, but for some reason I thought that accessing an Android device was just a matter of plugging it into a USB port and it would register as a mass storage device maybe after unlocking it and accepting some access prompt. The iPod worked like this 20 years ago, and it was perfectly possible to manage songs on it by simply copying them over to its internal drive that worked just like a thumb drive on any system, and modifying an XML file containing playlist data. All top-tier Nokia phones worked this way as well, but somewhere along the lines that simplicity was lost for whatever reason...

I truly miss Nokia. The N9 was a truly decent Linux phone way ahead of its time and could have given the contemporary iPhone 4 a good run for its money had it not been declared dead-on-arrival by the the saboteur CEO through whom Microsoft proceeded to kill the then mobile giant from the inside.
