OK so I upgraded to Mack OS sierra, and I want to enable the auto unlock feature. I already have two factor verification set up both on Mac and on iOS, but the autolock option still doesn't show up. I read somewhere that it can take a while for this option to become available, because of the iCloud paring but could someone help? thanks

What message do you get after enabling “Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac” in the Security & Privacy area of System Preferences on your Mac? (there should be a text message displayed next to this option if enabling it fails)

Or are you saying that this checkbox simply isn’t there on your Mac?

the checkbox isn't there, but it could just take some time

Does your Mac support Continuity?

MacBook Air (Mid 2012 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 or newer)
MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015)
iMac (Late 2012 or newer)
Mac mini (Late 2012 or newer)
Mac Pro (Late 2013)

Is bluetooth turned on?

Are both your Mac and Apple Watch using the same Apple ID?
