Hi Everybody!
All of a sudden, focus started jumping to the beginning or end of my Apple Mail inbox every time I deleted an email or moved an email to another mailbox. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but I have 100 emails in myh inbox, and I get dozens of new emails every day, so now I have to arrow arrow arrow to get to the middle where I had left off every time I move or remove email! Help! wringing hands fearfully
I am using the most recent version of Sequoia on a 2022 Mac Studio M1 ultra connected to a fiber network.
Best,
Bruce

Yeah, Known Issue
My strategy is to delete messages from within the thread viewer, rather than the message list. Focus on a different message in the list, and you can delete the thread without losing focus. An absurd workaround, but it does work.
Also, I have found that it occurs less often with single messages instead of entire threads. So you could expand threads before reading them, then open one message at a time from the list, deleting each message as you read it. Again, a silly workaround that works. It also means you don't get the broken focus behaviour in the thread viewer itself.
Bugs, bugs, bugs. Which I hope you're reporting to Apple, in the time-honoured tradition of giving free labour to giant corporations with bigger budgets than many small nation states. We thank you for your service, citizen.
