How to prevent VoiceOver from speaking Numbers when I hit enter on pages/notes

Hi,
As it says on the topic, when I’m using voice over on a text editing software, and I hit enter it randomly blurts out a number. Usually this is zero. It’s driving me to distraction. I’ll tried to go into verbosity and change all the settings but still it continues to spit out zero every time I hit the enter button in pages or notes. Not sure if it happens and other apps as well. Any fix on this?

When I press Enter, either in Pages or Notes, VoiceOver announces, "New line".

Have you tried a different voice? Resetting your boot PROMs?
