Hi, I'm taking statistics classes in college and they use IBM's SPSS statistical analysis software. Does anyone know if it is accessible, and if it is to what extent? I need to be able to get correlations, linear regressions and more analysis of that kind. If the program is not accessible does anyone know of anything similar that could get the job done? Thanks in advance for any answers you could provide.

Hi, I have been beta testing spss and when I last looked into using it on my Mac Mini I had no luck. It was not possible to find a file by using the open dialog. This could be done by finding the opening the file directly. What made it impossible to Work with SPSS was that you could not move from the Tool bars into the grid with the Data. This probelm was confirmed during the test. Since they use Java and Access bridge on Windows, and the java support has been a lot worse since 10.7, I am very sure that you will find spss on a mac unusable. If spss is used in the course I would suggest to run Windows and use the Windows version. You can try to find an accessible mac statistical package, but it will make it harder to follow the course. Hi claus, Thanks, i tried it myself and that is what i saw, but I thought there might be a way to make it work. Maybe the developers could be approached to try to make it work on the mac side.
