Hi everyone,
I’d like to introduce Petal Feed, an RSS reader that is now available for the Mac through the Mac App Store.
As someone who is legally blind and relies on accessibility every day, I wanted to create an RSS reader that feels completely at home on macOS with VoiceOver and keyboard navigation.
Petal Feed lets you follow RSS and Atom feeds, Reddit communities, Bluesky, Mastodon, blogs, and news sites from one application. If you already use Feedbin, FreshRSS, or Inoreader, you can connect your existing account and continue reading with your existing subscriptions, folders, and read status.
On the Mac, Petal Feed uses a spacious three column interface that makes it easy to browse sources, articles, and full content at the same time. Full keyboard navigation and VoiceOver support were priorities throughout development, and the app also includes convenient menu commands and keyboard shortcuts to help you move quickly through your reading.
Petal Feed can extract complete articles from supported websites, summarize content using Apple Intelligence on supported Macs, and read articles aloud using the voices installed on your Mac. Everything is designed to help you spend more time reading and less time managing feeds.
Petal Feed is a one time purchase with no subscription, no ads, and no tracking.
You can download it from the Mac App Store here:

I’d sincerely appreciate any feedback from the AppleVis community. If you try the app, please let me know what works well, what could be improved, or what features you’d like to see in future releases. Feedback from VoiceOver users has always been incredibly valuable to me.
Thank you for reading, and I’m happy to answer any questions.
