Question about accessibility with bootcamp

macOS and Mac Apps

Hello all, I have a question. I have a macbook air, 13 inch, 2017, which does not require a bootible usb drive to install windows. I am able to complete the beginning stepps with setting up the bootcamp partition with bootcamp assistant, because voiceover works during that part of bootcamp setup. But once that part is done and the computer restarts into the windows installer, their is no sound. I have always had to have sighted assistance with that part of the process because of not having any sound, microsoft already added the ability for narrator users to install windows, the reason that isn't working on the mac is because windows doesn't recognize the sound hardware. My question is, does anybody know of a workaround for this issue? I have already emailed a Company called mac for the blind, and I have already done some research and have found nothing, so I thought I would poste on here to see if anybody here has a workaround for this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Headphones

Hey just plug in headphones into the Mac and you should be good to go. Remember alt and Windows are swapped so keep that in mind when turning on Narrator.
Once you get through with the first half of the installer and all that and install the drivers that Windows will Download you will be good to go.

And by the way that’s been possible for a very long time. I was able to do that on my 2015. and even on this 2012. Just keep the ISO mounted before it restarts and just wait a few before starting Narrator up.
The keystroke now is Control Windows Inter.
So on Mac of course that will be
Command Control inter.

careful

Hi.
actually, you need to be careful with bootcamp setup. In my case, plugging in a USB C soundcard to the U C port in my macbook pro, or plugging in headphones, or plugging in a USB A soundcard via a U C dongle did not work. Dunno if I'm missing something.

I did a bootcamp install of windows 10 a few months ago. For whatever reason I couldn't get my external sound card to work. I used the seeing AI app on my iphone to call microsoft support and held the camera to my computer screen. Someone helped me through the install until I could get my speech happening. Not ideal, but a pretty painless work around.I did
