Soft resetting Your MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 with Voiceover

I am writing because I would like to know, How can soft reset my 13 inch MacBook Pro 2017? Is it the same as soft reseting your iPhone? Also, Is it Necessary to shut my laptop down after each use?
