Thoughts on catalyst apps

macOS and Mac Apps

I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on this, so I'm curious what you all think.

For those that don't know, a catalyst app is basically an iOS app that had a little bit of code added to it to make it a Mac app. Some examples of this are the official Twitter app and the Music app, although I think that one's actually coming out with an official Mac version soon.

I personally don't like them, with the main reason being speed and responsiveness. The M1 helped a lot, but on a standard intel Mac, navigation through the table in the Twitter app took like half a second for VO to update it's focus.
