transfering voice memos from your iPhone to mac

Once you synch all your memos to the computer wiht itunes simply use a program like iExplorer to remove all voice memos from the phone. Then I woudl restart the phone as it will save the data base with in the phone. Take care.

Hi Holly, One thing I would recommend if you are going to follow the instructions i give you in this post is to go in to iTunes, get in to preferences with a command comma, and interact with the tool bar. Once in the tool bar select devices, stop interacting, and navigate to the right. until you hear "prevent iPhones, iPods, and iPads from automatically sinking" and check that item then VO space on the OK button at the very right of that area. Having said all of this, sinking memos and storing them in another place beside your iTunes library is actually quite easy. The instructions I am about to give you may seam daunting at first but trust me... it's a piece of cake. All you need to do is connect your iPhone to your Mac via USB. You can even use the chord that came with your phones charger. once you do this open up iTunes. You should then be able to navigate to the right and find your iPhone in the list of sources and VO space on that. You should then be in an area where you see a list of different types of media that can be sinked between devices. I believe music is the fourth item in that list. Check that item with a VO space and navigate to the right until you find the scroll area and interact with it. This area should give you all kinds of options regarding how and what kind of music you would like to Sink. VO down Arrow until you hear "sink voice memos." and check this item. If you do not want to sink any other music make sure everything else is checked or unchecked as you see fit. After this stop interacting with the scroll area, and navigate to the right until you hear "Apply button." Pressing this should copy all of your voice memos to your iTunes library on your Mac. This should be confirmed by a little auditory signal. If you would then like to "eject" your iPhone from iTunes Navigate back to the left until you hear the eject button and VO space on that so that your device is properly ejected. If you don't want to store your voice memos in your iTunes library Simply bring up the albums table and navigate to the title of your iPhone (for example it might say Holly's iPhone,) and hit the delete or backspace button on your keyboard. Upon doing this you will be presented with a dialogue that asks you if you would like to keep the selected files in the iTunes media folder or move them to the trash. Select to keep them in the iTunes media folder. Note: When you delete items from your iTunes library from within the iTunes app, you aren't deleting them from your system. Your iTunes library simply reflects media that you have allowed to be viewed from within it... iTunes itself is not the actual storage space. Anyway after doing this open up your finder. and interact with the browser. Navigate to Macintosh HD, navigate to user, and then to your user account, and then to music, then to iTunes. Navigate down until you find your iTunes media folder. Within the iTunes media folder there should be a sub folder labeled "Voice Memos." (This folder was automatically created when you sinked your voice memos in iTunes.) From here you can do a select all (command A) and paste them to the clipboard with a command V. You can then either copy or move the files to whatever folder you desire by navigating to that folder in your finder, (REMEMBER if you don't know this already that when copying or moving files to a new folder you just want to be on the folder and not actually within it) To simply copy the selected files to this new folder do a command C; or if you would like to literally move the selected files to the new folder do a command shift c.
