I was working on an important ddocument on text edit, and i saved it, then by accident, i renamed the document, and start typing other things after i deleted all the document content.
now, i need to get back the original content that were in my document.
i used the revert back in the text edit, but with no luck, i read on apple that it is possible to do so, but i did with no luck.
note that this document is in my icloud drive.
is there any hope to get my old document content?
Thanks in advance.

re: Urgent please, how can i revert back in text edit app on mac
Hi!
If your mac has ssd and the app doesn't have the back-up functionality then you won't restore your data.
If your mac has hdd and the data are very very important I think you may be able to restore data with special utilities.
I can say that it may be possible to restore data from hdd in windows.
As for mac it is a difficult question for me.
Cheers!
This is SSD, and the file is on my Icloud drive also
THis is on my Icloud drive on mac, do not know if this is possible to get the previous version from the file or not?
iCloud restore
I don't know how iCloud handles files which have been renamed, but just possibly the previous named version of the file might be handled the same as a deleted file: Recover deleted files on iCloud.com
Good luck!
Can not find my renamed file
I looked on all places related to recent deleted files, and no renamed files at all,
but am doubt about that the reverting back on text edit is not accessible or something?
Because this document has more versions, but i can not see any previous version at all,
so, what do you think?
re: Can not find my renamed file
Hi!
Do you have billion files in your icloud?
Look at all files in your iCloud.
Cheers!
