Hi, I am new to using the Mac with voice over. I am struggling to search for apps on the App Store. Or before clicking search voice over will prompt me with no result. Am I doing the search wrong? Any help would be welcomed. Thanks

Or, well, it works as klunky as ever.

I open App Store, press Command+F, and enter my search term, for example, ChatGPT. Then I use VO+Right arrow to search through the results. I get 4 results when searching for ChatGPT, and one of them is called Perplexity. I press VO+Space on that.

At that point, VoiceOver focus jumps into the Twilight Zone, but by navigating around, or by using the Item Chooser, I can find my way to the Get button and select it.

I have no idea why VO focus jumps out to the back forty. Nor why the Get Button doesn't appear in the web rotor list of form fields (but the Item Chooser serves as a workaround).

I hope this helps.

Hmm, never occurred to me to use either the item chooser or the Command-F shortcut. Learn something new every day! No, I just use the Tab key until the focus stops jumping all over the place and lands me in the search box. Maybe it has something to do with mouse following the VO cursor, but for some reason I can't just navigate to the search field with VO navigation commands. Very odd!
