Using Speech Central as the default browser

macOS and Mac Apps

I am the developer of the app Speech Central. The app is one of the leading text to speech apps on the Mac App Store, you can get more info on the store page: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/speech-central-text-to-speech/id1223093645

In the latest version the app has one new feature that may significantly boost the accessibility of the web content for some people. The app can now be registered as the default web browser (instead of Safari) in the System Preferences > General. After you set the app as the default browser you can click on the link in any other app (for example the link that you have received by the email in the Mail app) and without any further user activity the app will read the content of the linked page to you (and you will have all accessibility that you may expect from the app like navigating the content within the text with many keyboard commands or by the Bluetooth headset).
