Hi all:

I have some movies that I'd like to convert so that ITunes would be able to play them. I saw an article on the site here called, VidConvert but, it looks like the software is no longer being developed. Also, when I wrote the developer, I didn't receive a reply. Might their be something that is either free, or paid for that works with VoiceOver and would allow me to do this successfully?

Thanks

Hi. There is a very accessible free app called handbrake That works great for video and audio conversion. You can find it here. https://handbrake.fr/
Hope this helps, cheers! :-)

Also try Winx dvd, it's not free but they do free give aways in Mac bundles at times.

The subject asks the question. What do I need to do for this program? Was their a podcast created for this program on how to use it? Do I need to set anything up or disable anything?

Thanks

Hi. If you are familiar with Terminal, the easiest way is to use the commandline tool ffmpeg. You can install it with homebrew.

.agree with ffmpeg. i have a bunch of converters, but i always come back to ffmpeg. it is powerful, fast and versatile. it has nearly all codecs and update frequently.
