I need some help from someone who has experience using Apple Pages for Mac. I have used it for several years now and, overall, I like it. However, often, in pages, I find VoiceOver focus to be a bit unstable.
For example, I will be working in the document area and a text navigation or reading command won't work quite right. So, I will do VO down arrow, even though I am already in the document area, to make sure I am interacting with the text, and I will end up interacting with the top header rather than the main document area. I will then do VO up arrow, to un-interact with the top header, VO right arrow, to move to the document area, and VO down arrow, to interact with the document area. When I cross a page boundary or when I do command up arrow or command down arrow to move to the beginning or end of the document, VO will stop interacting with the document area and, when I try to interact with it again, I will have the just described problem. Most of the time, as long as focus is on the document area, it doesn't matter if you are interacting with it. However, sometimes it does matter. For example spell check or some navigation commands sometimes don't work right if you are not interacting.
Another problem is that the VoiceOver curser occasionally does not follow the text curser. For example, sometimes I will be editing a paragraph and I will press VO plus P, to read the paragraph, and it will read another paragraph.
Is VoiceOver just a bit buggy when working with Pages or am I missing something? These problems aren't prevalent enough to hurt my productivity much but they can be a bit frustrating at times. Any help would be appreciated.
