There is a bug that causes occasional trouble for some OS X users where VoiceOver will not speak the message information in an email conversation expanded by the right arrow key. This behavior is noted in Alex Hall's excellent article on this site "Mac Mail Explained." There are work-arounds to this problem, but I am posting a request for more information because, for me, the problem is not occasional. Not a day goes by when the bug does not occur for me. I have sent logs to Apple Engineering, but so far, no idea has come forward as to its cause. I know this sounds far-fetched, but could the problem have anything to do with the kind of email from which messages are being fetched. I use the Apple Mail app to retrieve email on a POP3 account, and this is where the bug occurs. Interestingly, I set up a user called "Test" and used the app to fetch messages from my Gmail account. Under this IMAP configuration, I cannot reproduce the problem.
Has anyone else been troubled by more than an occasional occurrence of this difficulty? Any ideas as to what is causing this behavior?
Thank you for all help.
