My name is Florian Schwab. I am visually impaired and interested in learning how to program on Apple platforms. I am reaching out to kindly ask whether you could assist me directly or refer me to someone with experience in using Xcode together with VoiceOver.
Specifically, I am looking for guidance or best practices that would help me get started as a blind beginner and work efficiently in Xcode using Apple’s accessibility tools.
Any support, resources, or contact recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
if you are interested you are welcome to contact meKind regards,
Florian Schwab

I could probably help with…
I could probably help with that, the problem is that I'm living on borrowed time, not in the usual sense of the term, but in the sense that my time constraints are such that I have to avoid sleeping in order to address all my responsibilities. I'm not complaining as I actually like being busy and having an occupation, but sometimes I wish I had free time to dedicate to my hobbies, which currently I'm severely lacking.
I love casually sharing my knowledge, which is something I've been doing on-line for almost as long as I've been coding, however I may not be the best teacher out there. I've been thinking about making videos or text tutorials on a bunch of subjects, but the problem is that I am addicted to learning, so whenever I have free time I invariably choose to spend it conducting research instead of producing content. Sometimes I do feel bad about behaving this way, because I'm self-taught and have been consuming technical content online for nearly 3 decades without contributing back with my own knowledge outside of my aforementioned casual interventions.
While I won't be able to assist as a tutor, which seems to be what you're looking for, I am likely able to provide casual help with any questions you might have if you post them here. Just make sure to conduct some research and be specific about what you tried and need help with.
thx for your help
Thank you for your honest and detailed response.
What I need first and foremost is someone who can give me a basic introduction to the program – to explain how to work with it, how to interact with it, and what its functions are. I mainly want to get a general understanding of how everything is structured.
Once I understand how it basically works, I can look for someone else to help me with more advanced questions or deeper topics, in case you no longer have time.
I really appreciate your willingness to help, even if only occasionally.
Here is an old guide to give you a basic understanding.
This guide is several years old, so some things might have changed, but this should help you get started using Xcode.
