Apple Hiring Event, Very Concerned
I applied for a few positions with Apple retail online a few months ago. Last week, I decided to go into my two closest Apple stores to introduce myself and drop off a copy of my resume. One of the managers must have helped my application on a little, as a few days ago,I was invited to an Apple hiring event. Have any of you ever attended one of these with success? It is located in a large hotel quite a ways from my home, too far for me to have went to explore it beforehand, and I am worried about looking incompetent even though I am not a bad traveler.
I would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone has related to these events. Just for clarification, I'm not necessarily looking for information about what the event consists of, as I'm not sure if that is allowed here on Applevis. What I'm looking for is how you handled the event specifically relating to your blindness.
Thank you very much for reading.
Congrats! I've been to two of these, one last year and another one last week. While I didn't get called back for a second interview in either case, the experiences were very positive. I haven't had many job interviews but, the Apple events were far and away my favorite. Why? I didn't have to worry about any accommodations whatsoever. In fact, they went above and beyond what most companies would do. One of the managers described to me in great detail the videos they showed , without me having to ask for it. How many other companies would do that? I wasn't trying to butter them up, but I let them know that because of that I genuinely felt included, and that is hard to come by these days. Good luck!
Thank you for the offer Brian. Unfortunately, by the time I saw this, it was a little late to reach out. I was attending the event on very short notice. I got lucky though, and am going in for interview number two on Wednesday.
