It used to be that there was a category one could browse in the iTunes store that contained $5 movies, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. Aside from the two sales posted weekly in the Top Movies section on the Apple TV, there is no way I can find to browse on sale movies, music, apps and so on.
If I am mistaken, and there are better ways to seek out on sale content, I would love to know. But, if I am right, and there is no current way, I would ask anyone who has the time and inclination to use the feedback form in iTunes to request things like sale subcategories in the store through both iTunes and on the Apple TV, a way to sort one's wishlists by price, ascending and descending and a way to filter wish lists and favorite lists so that only on sale items show.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've always found the iTunes store to be a real pain when one is looking for something specific and does not have all of the information precisely in ones head, and, of course, finding things in a particular price range or that are on sale is even more problematic. I recently picked up a couple of movies from my wish list after discovering that they both were on sale for $6.99. Whatever sale they were a part of was not listed anywhere I could fine, there were no links to other titles on sale on their item pages and there was no indication of a reduced price unless one happened to go into the item pages and check. I lucked out because I wanted to use the actors' links within the items to look up some other movies and just happened to notice the reduced prices. Anyway, I have had Apple listen to feedback in the past, so I am hoping that perhaps some user requests for features might pay off here and give us better ways to find media.
Thanks,
Chris
