Help with Audacity

Hello, please would anyone be able to assist me? I am trying to use the Audacity application on my iMac. I have looked about for information on how to use this application but the information I have found has been very technical and as a beginner to editing audio I find it confusing. I am able to copy a pre-recorded file into the application but that is as far as it goes with my ability. If anyone knows of any step by step guide or other resource I can access I would very much appreciate it. Regards Karen

Hello, That depends on what you are trying to do. Apply effects to the audio? Apply effects to parts? Split a file? Re-encode a file? Move audio around? I'm not too experienced, but I know enough to do moderate editing, so perhaps I can offer some help. I just need to have a more exact idea of your goals.

Audacity beginner

Hello I am trying to learn how to edit audio I have recorded on my Zoom h2n. I would like to start with being able to fade at the beginning and end. I have no idea where to start as I have never done anything like this before. A lot of the material I have found make the assumption people have done some form of editing before! If you could assist I would be very grateful. Even if you could point me in the direction of where to look for podcasts for absolute beginners! Regards Karen
